Selected work

What I have actually shipped.

A few pieces of work in more detail. Numbers are as reported internally or publicly, and I am happy to walk through any of them.

ads.timesofindia.com, Times of India Group

Role: Head of product, product marketing. Times of India Group, 2022 to present.

ads.timesofindia.com is a self-serve platform with an unusual audience. Agencies book in volume and know exactly what they are doing. Everyone else is booking one obituary, one matrimonial listing, or one property ad, possibly the only one they will ever place. The same funnel has to work for both. Most of what we lost, we lost in the gap between someone deciding to advertise and someone finishing an ad.

So we put help in three places where people were stopping.

Times AI Text Ad Assist

Classified ads are priced by the line, and a badly written one costs the advertiser responses they never learn they missed. Times AI Text Ad Assist writes the ad for them inside the booking flow. The advertiser adds a few keywords, gets finished ad texts back with the character count shown on each, copies one across, and watches it set in the live preview beside the pricing. If it is close but not right, Rephrase reworks it. The character count matters more than it sounds: the copy is written to fit the length they are paying for, not trimmed down afterwards.

AI live chatbot

First-time advertisers have questions the product cannot answer on its own: which edition to choose, what a header costs, whether the date is still open. The chatbot answers on the page, at the moment of hesitation, instead of routing people to a help desk they will not use.

WhatsApp booking bot

Support where our advertisers already are. Queries, booking help, and follow-ups run over WhatsApp rather than email or a call centre, which suits an audience that is mobile-first and mostly booking outside office hours.

Regional language compiler

Ad submissions in several Indian languages rather than English only. Letting advertisers book in the language they think in moved more numbers that year than anything we ran as a campaign.

Result: 45% revenue growth sustained over multiple years, 25% year-on-year growth in ad orders, and ₹12 Cr in online classified booking revenue. Recognised as Best Performance Marketing Campaign for BCCL at the E4M Marketing Awards 2026.

Kerala Tourism and Incredible India

Role: Account manager, then digital account manager and group account head. Crayons and Stark, 2010 to 2022.

Tourism is the hardest kind of brand work: you are selling a place you cannot change, to people who have already been sold a hundred other places. I worked on both accounts across the full range, from The Great Backwaters and Visit Kerala campaigns to Ayurveda led positioning, and then on the digital side as it became the main channel.

The work I am proudest of is the Go Kerala mobile app, the Maya WhatsApp bot, and the VR activations we put into major airports, because they took a tourism board from advertising at people to answering them.

Alongside the campaign work, I represented Kerala Tourism at 20+ international trade fairs — WTM London, ITB Berlin, FITUR Madrid, MITT Moscow — and helped organise flagship events like the Kerala Travel Mart and the Tourism Investors Meet, which pitched 39 projects worth over ₹2,500 crore.

Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism

Role: Social media mandate 2016–2019, then creative panel to 2022. Stark Communications.

I ran the Incredible India social media mandate from 2016 to 2019, then spent three years on the creative panel to 2022. On social, I started the Instagram account and built it from nothing, and grew the Facebook page into the second most-followed tourism page in the world, behind Australia. We were shipping 40+ updates a day across eight platforms, with the content calendar, creative, and community all handled in-house.

On the creative panel from 2019, the work moved to print and campaign creative for the Ministry of Tourism — the campaigns below come from those years.

Kochi Metro Rail

Role: Project manager, digital. Stark, 2016 to 2018.

A new metro has one chance at a first impression, and most of it happens on a phone before anyone reaches a station. I ran the digital launch: website, mobile apps, CRM integration, live chat, and the customer service platforms behind them, coordinating between the client, the agency, and the development teams.

Result: a complete digital service layer live for the start of public operations.

Omnicom Media Group, Annalect

Role: Manager, marketing science, UK market. 2018 to 2019.

I led a team of more than forty people delivering insights, analytics, dashboards, and programmatic work for UK clients, alongside PHD, OMD, H&S, and MGOMD. The real problem was not analysis, it was that four agencies were measuring the same campaigns four different ways. Most of my year went into standardising reporting, visualisation, and behavioural insight frameworks so the numbers meant the same thing to everyone.

Result: one measurement standard across four partner agencies, and faster onboarding for new accounts.

Stark Communications, digital business

Role: Group account head, digital and social. 2019 to 2022.

Beyond individual accounts, I was responsible for the digital business: pitching it, staffing it, and delivering it. Clients included Incredible India, Karnataka Tourism, Milma, Aster Medcity, Silk Air, and Kochi Metro.

Result: ₹15 Cr quarterly marketing budget managed, ₹60 Cr in annual revenue from digital campaigns, and a digital team built across paid media, SEO, content, and development.
